My transition

Pendle Vale is much bigger than Bradley I wasnt surprised that it is bigger as it is a high school. There is more classrooms there and more teachers, so basically there is more of everything.
I am very exited about going to Pendle vale because I will be able to face up to new challenges .
The thing I will miss most from Bradley is the teachers.
I am looking forward to all the new sports I will be able to do at Pendle Vale.

Biology

We could see into the biology room and there were skeletons in the window and a man working inside. They were scary.

Dining Room

The dining room was really nice, it looked like a real cafe with stylish tables and chairs with plenty of space around each table.

A quick lesson with William

We used an empty classroom to see how it feels to be in a lesson, William did a good job pretending to be a teacher and we all tried to be good listeners.

Science lessons

In the science classrooms, there were evidence of experiments taking place like this one on the window sill. I think they were trying to grow cells in jelly in plastice bags?

Sport Hall

There is a big indoor sports hall and you can watch people playing netball or soccer through a viewing window. Its like watching professionals.
There were lots of activites such as football, cricket, netball and basketball.

Head Office

There are lots of floors and balconies around the central hall of the school.
This is the office of the head of year, Miss Devine. If we need help with anything, we can go to see her and she will help us. Its on the balcony above the climbing wall.

Still working on playground

They were still working on the new school playground when we visited, it will be very spacious, with lots of room to sit and chat with our new friends. The football field might be ready to play on by the time we get there.

Secure lockers

Here we are checking out the new personal lockers along the corridor. Students can store their things inside with a key. I hope I can get one of these.

Trophy Cabinet

They have glass cabinets to display all their trophies, which they have won at sports. Maybe one day, my name will be on one of them for playing cricket.

cooking equipment

The food technology teacher was really nice, she gave us some biscuits.

The cooking classroom is enormous. The teacher allowed us to pose with the equipment.

abubakar

When we went to Pendal Vale we looked in the classrooms and talked with the students about whats it like to be at pendal vale college.

Long Corridors

My name is qasim.
They have really long corridors.
My new form is at the left.

The Climbing Wall

They have got this climbing wall, it is really BIG!

The Auditorium

This is the Auditorioum, it is where they have assemblies and shows, they play drums in the auditorium. They have meetings and presentations.
It is so big that it holds over 100 people. it is just like a small stadium.

One Way System

There were lots of stairs and corridors inside the huge building. If you wanted to go upstairs you had to keep to the correct staircase and a different staircase to come back down. This is because of the amount of students moving around the school, it helps the flow of students to get from one place to another quickly and safely.

art display

This is a display of artwork by students at Pendle Vale, we thought it was great!
It looked like it had been created by real artists.

A big secret

Hi ! My name is Nadia Yasin and for the past few weeks me and the rest of my year are going to be writing a blog about our transition day, moving from primary school to high school.
I am a little nervous but I have lot's of company. The school that I am going to is called Pendle Vale College, this school is very big and very modern it can take you about 2 hours to look round the whole school, the school has a good reputation and for evidence you should look at the year 11 marks and be prepared to be amazed. Our head of year is called Miss Divine but in our summer holiday's she will get married and we already know her new name, but it is a secret. I will tell you though, its Mrs Pearson, but you have to keep your mouth shut .

Wind Turbine

In the car park, there is a mini wind turbine, it generates electricity and runs on wind power by spinning the blades, just like a wind mill.

Play ground

this play ground is for the Pendle community to use, it has been designed with safety in mind.

the new car park

As we walked along the path we could see diggers and builders that were working on the new car park.

Welcome

As we slowly approached the gigantic building
we spotted a sign that led us to the main entrance.

Walking to Pendle Vale College

We walked in the miserable cold wet weather in pairs to pendle vale. We had to be careful of the busy traffic, it took us about 20 minutes to get there from Bradley Primary School.

Whats it all about?

This blog is to log our transition from Bradley Primary School to High School, using photographs and notes that we made in our journals.
